Very few of us actually take that particular oath anymore. However, most state medical boards use the AMA code of ethics which I'd wager doesn't condone participating in executions
Reminds me of "Better" by Atul Gawande when he talked about the physician who participated in overseeing the lethal injections, and was ostracized by the community and his peers.
Honestly, I would rather someone trained to ensure suffering is minimized participate rather than leave it to less trained people who might **** it up. No one should be forced to participate though.
