Applying to IM, specify subspecialty?

Hello! I had one question for ERAS (I'm applying into IM)

Would it be reasonable to say which fellowship I see myself pursuing at the end of my personal statement?? I know PD's tend to prefer you be interested in Internal med, but would they frown upon my personal statement about IM and then at the end saying "oh btw I see myself as a critical care attending" in a natural manner?

Generally speaking, no. There are some rare situations (basically just research pathway programs) where this is necessary. But in most circumstances it is, at best, irrelevant and potentially harmful at worst.
