Application Tips with Apply Point: One on One Interviews

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Medical school interviews are still a few months away but preparing early is a natural way to ease your anxieties once the big day rolls around. Peak interview time runs from early September to mid-January.

The school might have you do two or three one-on-one interviews with a faculty member, current student, and/or practicing physician. Your interviewer might have your application open, semi-open (just one section), or closed.

Tip #2: Know Who You Are Presenting

Some of the questions will be like ones you answered in your application, so review your app. It's not only okay to repeat anecdotes in your interview, it's natural. Your most poignant experiences and takeaways haven't changed.

Every response should include a story, even if the question doesn't outwardly demand one. For example, "Why medicine?" You might share an experience that reinforced your passion for the field .
