anyone doing rheum in CA?

i'm currently doing residency at UMDNJ and was wondering how competitive it would be to get a rheum fellowship in CA as my fiance is working there...i'm not really into basic science research but it seems that the programs in CA are basically university based, and as such, heavy into research...thanks for any info
