Getting a rejection is not fun, but I respect the schools that plain out reject you early in the process, than the ones that make you wait around forever & then send you an email stating they don't have any interview slots available for this year anymore, thus stating they will be unable to review your application for the upcoming school year. Schools that flat out send quick rejections help you see your chances better and sooner where you can try to apply to more schools if you need to. Maybe other schools should follow Stanford's example. At least Stanford didn't ask you to send them money knowing they would never consider your application.
