Hey all,
I am currently a undergrad student at a OOS school (CA resident) which is just a standard mid tier big state school. I am going into my third year, however due to credits I will be graduating next year (spring 2022). I am planning to take the MCAT in June 2022 and apply during that 2022 cycle. I really don't want to take a gap year as then I would be essentially having two years off school, and that is a little off-putting for me.
My stats are:
Statistics Major
3.97/4.00 GPA/Science GPA
MCAT TBD
1200 hours working as a patient transporter at big hospital
Around 750 hours or two summers working as a medical physics research assistant
1 publication and 1 poster/abstract presentation at a national conference
40 hours volunteering hospital
I am going to try to volunteer as a surf instructor when I am back in CA, I know I need many more volunteer hours.
Do you guys think I will be ready to apply by next cycle if I get these non - clinical volunteering hours and some shadowing in?
