Hey everyone,

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, feel free to move it, figured residency forum made the most sense because my question is somewhat education/training related.

I am need of some advice of good primary care resources (ie books) for non-primary care physicians. I am a specialist but from time to time have some primary care issues come up. It's been some time since my internship and that part of my knowledge base is starting to atrophy- curious if there is a book or some other recommendation you prefer that is simple and not bogged down by too many details. Tables and algorithms preferred. I am talking pretty much adult outpatient medicine only, no peds or OB.

Any help is appreciated
Thank you!

I mean, I guess it depends on what type of sub-specialist you are and what the issues are. As an oncologist, I will manage a very small subset of "primary care" issues that are the direct result of treatments I prescribe to my patients. But beyond that, I have their PCP do it (or get them a PCP to do it). I'm a pretty good oncologist, but a crap PCP. Just as I wouldn't want my patient's PCPs managing their cancer treatment, I don't want to be managing their non-cancer issues.
