I’ve been fortunate enough to have had a few interviews for forensic fellowships in 2022. At the end of the interview, each program director has said something like “Well, if you want to come here let me know, and if you decide you’d rather be elsewhere, let me know that too.” One said, “I’ll make you an offer if you want me too, but I won’t hold a spot for you.”
I’m confused. The AAPL statement says that applicants should not be asked by programs to accept or reject an offer prior to June 1st, but does this mean that applicants are expected to “choose” a program before this deadline? Will an “official” offer come from the PD’s at some point before June? Or does the applicant typically say “I choose you, will you have me?”
This almost makes me miss the Match...
