Does anyone have explanations for the following terms? They seem mostly self-explanatory but google didn't yield anything super clear.

-generational status
-social solidarity
-welfare state
-intersectionality of medicine
-difference between "randomized trials" and "experimental trials"

Thanks!

Generational status = Your place in your family generation. First generation being your immigrant family.

Social solidarity = Gathering of minds due to society and its norms. So, prison fights, to the prisoners. Taking a knee by all in football, because that's just "right."

Welfare state = A state that creates a safety net through programs aimed at keeping people afloat. Seen a lot in America when people say, "I'm sick of everyone getting handouts."

IOM = The thought that every interaction in medicine can have not only bias, but layered bias.

Difference between the two: Any trial can be randomized. Control or experimental. Experimental trials are the sets of an experiment, with a control and an experimental group usually. Can be randomized in which group gets what treatment.
