About how much is the average debt by an optometry graduate, an about how much would it be needed to buy, enter, or start a practice?

I understand that these numbers will vary considerably from place to place, and that they will depend on many factors, but I just want to have a rough idea.

Thanks

It's possible to accumulate about $150k from the most expensive schools.

I"d recommend getting about 2-5 years experience in different environments before "buying' a practice. Another way to get equity into a practice is to purchase 10% or so every year while being an associate leading to practice.

It's difficult to say how much practices might cost but look for practice that grosses between 250k and up.

Richard
