McDreamy911, thank you for starting this thread. Haven't heard from any programs yet and will certainly post when they come through, but was hoping to ask if people could comment on robotic general surgery exposure throughout the trail since it is not 100% clear by the descriptions. Thanks!

Long time listener, first time caller...

Just wondering the average number of programs everyone is applying to? I've applied to 30 currently. Spoke to a co-resident who matched two years ago (fellow now) who said between 25-30 was average then. Haven't heard from anywhere yet, but looking at prior years I think it's still pretty early.

Brown, RI just pulled out of the match. I am not sure what the reason is. So far MGH and Brown have pulled out. Does anyone know what might be the reason? Pre-match maybe?

Looking at the last years' thread, things really started going around mid-Jan, with lots of new posts. I guess after the holiday is when the programs actually sit down to review applications.

So from what I have seen, the overall MIS match rate is around 62-65% for the past couple of years, with people typically applying to 30ish programs.

I agree that all of this is unbelievable expensive and furthermore, unfortunately I can't take that much time away from Residency. We have 4 of us interviewing (For different things) all at the same time so coverage is tight!
