Hello everyone,

I am a WV resident with the following stats:

MCAT 511
GPA 3.99
sGPA 3.98

I have a very good chance of getting in to WVU, as almost 30% of in-state applicants are accepted. What do you think about my chances elsewhere?

UMass, UConn, UC Irvine, LSU, UNC, Utah strongly favor their own residents or those with connections to the state. You should add Marshall to your list.

You could try UConn but a sibling living is a state is not a connection for the purpose of medical school admissions.

Here is a more realistic list:

U WV
Marshall
Duke
Hofstra
Albert Einstein
Rochester
USC/Keck
Dartmouth
Va Tech (maybe)
Mayo
U VM
Miami
George Washington
Georgetown
SLU
Albany
Rochester
Rush
Rosy Franklin
NYMC
MCW
VCU
EVMS
Wake Forest
Netter
Jefferson
Temple
Drexel
Creighton
Tulane
Loyola
Uniformed Services University/Hebert (just be aware of the military service commitment)
Oakland-B
Any DO program. I can't recommend Touro-NY, or LUCOM, for different reasons. Start list with WVSOM, KYCOM, LMU, OHCOM, VCOM and LECOM

If you have a decent research background, you may be a good fit for Virginia Tech Carilion.
