Thank you for the information. How is the area around the University? Are the living expenses reasonable in the area for someone that would maybe live off campus?

Living costs in Ames, Iowa are very reasonable. Most graduate students live off campus. There are apartments within walking distance of the college. I would say the average cost of a 1-bedroom is around $700/month.
