Would research in another field, like orthopedic surgery or public health be beneficial for urology residency interviews? I ask because I started medical school wanting to go into ortho and imo I have the step 1 score for both but how would a lack of urology research look on a urology interview? I've participated in research before, have my name on an abstract, 2 posters and should have 2 publications by the end of the year but non urology related. Would this be helpful or would it be the same as not having any research at all? Thanks

Research will be looked upon favorably, but not as much as it being specialty-specific. You'll be good, mayne.
