Thanks for the plethora of links!

Great links for Step 1 - does anyone have opinions for how these resources compare for Step 2? Thanks!

Thanks for the plethora of links!

Thanks BAJ. I was a medical student too, so I sympathize with the amount of information there is. That's why we conglomerated the top 50 "Kaplan vs. Falcon vs. DIT Threads" into one. Basically, my experience is that what works for one student does not always work for another student. Sometimes you have to read a lot of recommendations before you can make the decision that is right for you.

What worked for me? Audio (or course)
What worked for others? Review courses (live or online USMLE reviews), or notes, or going to class.

You have to find what works for you and stick with it!

StereoSanctity, I think that will require a different thread. In medical education a ton of time and effort is spent on figuring out the best thing to do for the USMLE Step 1. Once you have that down, you spend less time for Step 2 (CK and CS), and even less for Step 3.

Basically, I would say if you did well on Step 1, you are on your way to doing well for the USMLE Step 2. However, if your struggled, and your USMLE Step 1 score is not as high as you would like, it is time to change your study strategy - trying a live review or an online review or audio or something.

Where I saw my classmates get in trouble is this:
1. They had a study strategy.
2. Then they barely passed (or some even failed) their courses.
3. Then they actually STUCK TO THEIR STRATEGY! - Big Mistake.

If things have worked well for you on Step 1 - stick with it.
If you had problems on Step 1 - branch out.

I'll leave it to other students to comment on Kaplan vs. Falcon vs. DIT for the USMLE Step 2. If you find some useful posts - please post them here on this thread!

for time being ,

I have taken Kaplan LIVE in NYC and i assure its not worth it if you are recent graduate or 5+ Yr old graduate .being recent means you need to go through DIT then Kaplan and being old graduate means much of information you get in med school (25%) is obsolete or changed so go through Books + kaplan,Falcon videos first then think about live as it too fast to catch on of you forgot Neuro, biochem,Physio ANS concepts.

Kaplan in greedy actually very greedy they won`t let you use even their library until you pay`em 2000+ for center prep ...yeah all those videos that are free floating on net they eant 2 grands for it for 3 months just to sit in library. They made them for carribean schools who pay them royality and i20 visa students as they need to attend videos or facility for minimum 40 HR per week to keep their visa status in USA.

Depending on deal now a days FALCON is giving best for value

$1350 for 2 NBME + 2 months UWORLD +7 Wks live in Chicago and NYC

nothing can beat that .
