Hello all! I passed my PTCB exam and am nationally certified. My question is: I need my state certification (Texas), should I apply for technician trainee or just the registered technician? Money is a little tight and I don't want to waste it on something pointless.

Or, should I just apply to different pharmacies and put in the application later?

Registered technician. Most jobs, including mine, are already full with trainees and aren't looking to hire another trainee. It's expensive compared to other states but you'll get a higher pay rate for being a technician over a trainee. Plus, you'll probably want to upgrade later... so just do it now.

Hi, this might sound stupid but why would you want to apply for a trainee post? If you have passed PTCB my understanding is that you can directly apply for a full technician post meaning higher pay right?
