I have a question about the content of the Qbank...are the questions based on testing information from your textbooks or are they formatted to be representative of the style of questions we will see on Step 1? Also does your Qbank contain audiovisual questions like the USMLE now does?

Does this program allow you to retake only those questions you missed after you have gone through the entire qbank?

do the answers quote the page for the answer in first aid like in kaplan qbank, because that is really cool.

Hi ELS,
I am preparing for the USMLE Step 1 and am exploring various options for practice. As for subscription periods, what are the options? Also, are the questions labeled in terms of difficulty?

Hi there:

Our question bank reflects the style and format of the questions on the real exam, ie patient vignettes that require application of knowledge about important, relevant content.

Hi there,

We provide explanations for each option about why it is correct or incorrect. In addition, we provide referenced Elsevier content if a student wants another layer of information. We do not reference McGraw-Hill's First Aid.

Hi,

We have 1- and 2-week, 1-, 3-, 6-, and 12-month durations.

That's a great idea about marking for level of difficulty. We have a place for test takers to provide us with that information, but we have not gotten much feedback. Internally, we have stats on how easy or difficult a question is and we are currently replacing those that are too easy.

We have (and provide) averages on complete tests. I will see if we can provide averages on a question-by-question level ("75% of test takers got this question correct").

when you say "bonus remediation content" what does that entail? How is this material selected and highlighted and what is its significance?

Hi,

The remediation program: in addition to explanations about why each answer is right or wrong, every question includes relevant chunks of text (or sometimes figures or tables) form our textbooks and study guides, such as Goljan, Kumar, Brouchert, and Robbins). If students think they need an extra layer of information, it is available to them. We use students and our editorial board to choose the content chunks.

To ELS: Regarding the subscription periods, would it be possible to get an extension for any particular period for an adjusted price? \

We currently cannot offer variable prices based on new subscriptions vs renewed subscriptions, but we do try to offer several choices, both in terms of price and length, varying from 1 week to 1 year, to suit your needs and your budget.
