One patient per hour with 25% admit / transfer rate. Ample major cases but enough time to actually enjoy them! Progressive critical access ED, well funded, new ED summer of 2018. Point of care ultrasound friendly. Cordial and responsive medical staff, consultants. Outstanding tertiary care a short ambulance/HEMS trip away. ABEM board certified medical director, supportive administration. Outstanding nurses. Low levels of ED abuse, drug seeking behavior, bed holds etc.
Extremely appreciative, realistic patients (can't emphasize this enough!).
Low med mal risk - Patient compensation fund. Epic EMR.
12 or 24 hour shifts. Sleepy night shifts.
Generous compensation and crazy low cost of living.
