After a 2 yo got a tonsillectomy, he developed seizures while in the recovery room. He received 1 L 5% dextrose in water during the operation. Measuring which serum concentration can confirm this boy's diagnosis?
1. creatinine
2. glucose
3. potassium
4. sodium
5. urea nitrogen

is it glucose?? hypglycemic seizure? but he got dextrose....? help

Just a conjecture but it could be glucose even after receiving dextrose if pt is diabetic?
 
Sodium. That was a massive amount of water with no sodium in it, and he's now hyponatremic.
