Why does embolus in the pulmonary artery (medium size) cause necrosis in 15% (in patients with cardiovascular compromise) of cases if we still have the same amount of bronchial circulation in both lungs such as in other 85% of cases? Who can really explain the mechanism by which the infarction occurs/or not ? Thank you!
