Hey everyone!

Match is just a few days away and I thought it would be cool to start a thread and see where everyone is going. Monday can't come soon enough! Good luck to you all.

Just received my match and not thrilled with it. Is anyone aware of a mechanism to try to get a better position?

Nope. The match is a legal contract.... You could transfer later on if positions open up.

It is better than not matching.... I am stuck going to MP II

Sorry man, it's a binding contract. If you force your way out you'd be burning bridges in a major way (and you'd better hope you have another place on lock already)

Good programs scramble just like good students. Keep your chin up and don't lose hope!

Congrats to everyone who matched!! 4th years, assuming they posted them on the match tab like they did last year, what were the match stats for 2016?

Not seeing any match stats on the site. All that is available is a pdf of where you matched

Do schools publish where there students match? Where can one find that info

Several big-name programs scrambled. Grant, UPMC x 2, Legacy all scrambled. As usual, good programs were available.

Would someone mind explaining the scramble process? Does this mean you didn't get accepted to a program to which you applied or ranked, so in that case you enter the scramble and a program could pick you up if they like what they see?

I would actually encourage all underclassmen in podiatry school (but especially 3rd years) to read this guide: http://www.casprcrip.org/html/casprcrip/AP_Instructions/Default.aspx
Details the entire residency interview and match process, including scramble (aka Match Part II)

Wow, there are some great programs on that list (one was nearly my top choice) - that's wild that they're going to be picking up scramblers!

This scramble list is pretty surprising. Just a word of warning to future match participants, don't go off hearsay or rumors. I know of at least one person who heard "so and so was offered program X and is for sure going there". He ranked them low on his list since he assumed the program was taken. Turns out that guy ended up at a less than desirable program while program X ended up in the scramble. Who knows what would have happened if he just ranked based on his preferences alone and not rumors.

It's been said on here before but having just gone through the process I want to reiterate: Rank based on your preferences alone. Trust no one.
