I received an email the other day from my program director stating the bill has been reintroduced.

House Resolution #1252 and Senate Bill #602 have been re-introduced; both bills would authorize physical therapists to benefit from the NHSC Loan Repayment Program.

Flash action strategy: April 23-25 do not miss out on your chance to help get this loan forgiveness apply to physical therapy!!! We are supposed to send letters, have our family and friends send letters etc. asking legislators to accept the proposal. View the link below and help!

Thanks for the updates, this keeps getting reintroduced w/ each new leg. session, and each time we ask for letters and email petitions, etc. Guess we keep the fight going.

The bill has not yet been voted on. It was referred to the Subcommittee on Health. You can track the bill here: https://www.congress.gov/bill/114th-congress/house-bill/2342

APTA members, take action by emailing your legislators with just a few clicks through the APTA Legislation Action Center.

Non APTA members who are students can do the same? Just like with SGR etc.?

We need good talking points.....any suggestions?
Obviously, education is expensive as $#%^ and our payment is tied to outside market factors. I'm leaning towards arguing for skyrocketing healthcare costs and citing studies showing how prevention and therapy is best for patients in the longhaul. This program can incentivize professionals to help specific communities. Thoughts?
