The Department of Pathology at UMass Memorial Medical Center /
University of Massachusetts Medical School is seeking an outstanding individual
to serve as the Director of our Clinical Pathology Laboratories. The Laboratory
Director will lead our efforts in strategic planning, improving test utilization,
developing metrics which improve patient care and outcome and in clinical
pathology informatics. The UMass Core Laboratory performs 6 million tests / year,
has 212 FTE’s and has recently installed a Beckman Power Express automation
line. The Laboratory Director will also serve as the Chemistry Scientific Director
for our affiliated Quest Diagnostics Laboratory in Marlborough and play an
essential role in our CP residency program.
We are seeking an M.D. or Ph.D. with administrative experience and board
certification in clinical pathology or clinical chemistry. The successful candidate
will have a proven interest in clinical and translational research and resident /
fellow teaching. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.

Primary responsibilities will be to:


· Provide medical insight to the development of design specifications; medical expertise to regulatory submissions; participation in meetings with regulators (e.g. FDA); review of marketing and promotional materials.

· Experience in risk management/safety assessments in the medical devices industry is desirable.

Board Certified Anatomic and Clinical Pathologists needed in the South & Southeast


Our client is looking for 3 AP/CP Board certified Pathologists for two different hospital based practices located in the South and the Southeast.

Two positions are with a group located in a charming and well known city in the South. Both positions require AP/CP Board certification;


a. The first position requires fellowship training in GI pathology.

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in the Emory University School of Medicine is seeking a full-time academic Hematopathologist at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. The successful candidate will become the sixth faculty member of the expanding Section of Hematopathology within the Division of Clinical Pathology. Based at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA, Hematopathology faculty currently handle approximately 3800 in-house bone marrow/lymph node specimens and 1000 outside/expert consultation cases annually. These activities support Emory’s multi-hospital healthcare system, the Winship Cancer Institute (Georgia’s only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center), as well as several community hospitals throughout metropolitan Atlanta and the surrounding region. The Hematopathology group additionally reviews approximately 6600 flow cytometry immunophenotyping profiles, 3200 molecular diagnostics tests, 3600 FISH panels, and 3400 cytogenetics studies each year. They also participate in multidisciplinary leukemia/lymphoma conferences and are actively involved in the training and education of fellows, residents, medical students, hematopathology laboratory staff, and students of allied health science programs. The successful candidate will share clinical service and teaching responsibilities equally with the other five faculty members in the Section of Hematopathology.

As a primary diagnostic center, the pathology material is always interesting and sometimes quite challenging. The ideal candidate must be comfortable with a broad range of surgical pathology cases, GYN and non-GYN cytopathology, performance and interpretation of bone marrow biopsies and frozen sections. Subspecialty expertise in Breast Pathology or Gastrointestinal Pathology preferred. Experience serving as a Medical Director of a clinical or histology laboratory highly valued. Excellent interpersonal skills are a must and someone with at least a few years of experience. The candidate will need to take on laboratory directorships so experience with that would be preferred.

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) is inviting applications for a clinically focused academically oriented surgical pathologist and cytopathologist with subspecialty interest in any of the following areas: gynecologic, gastrointestinal, or genitourinary pathology. Additional interests and/or expertise in biobanking and translational pathology or digital pathology is welcome. The successful candidate will be recruited at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. They will be employed through University Clinical Health and spend the majority of time at Regional One Health (ROH), an acute care training site for UTHSC with over 300 staffed beds and associated primary care clinics. ROH houses many specialized services including a burn center, a level 1 trauma center, complex obstetrics, neonatology, cancer, and an HIV/AIDS special care unit. Together with clinical volume received from a large regional reference laboratory, the pathologist will join a team at ROH handling 17,000 surgical and 20,000 cytologies.
UTHSC Pathology is a rapidly growing academic department and consists of the divisions of Anatomic, Clinical, Translational and Experimental Pathology. The Pathology Department, with its more than 80 primary and affiliated faculty, serve multiple institutions including the Regional One Medical Center, Methodist Le Bonheur Health system and the Veterans Administration Hospital. There is an active residency program in which the residents have an opportunity to participate in clinical service handling almost 200,000 cases. Memphis is a medium-sized city with an attractive 4-season climate and an international reputation for its local culture. It consistently scores very highly on national measures of affordability. LSU Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in Shreveport has an opening for Department Head of Pathology. The new chair will provide strategic leadership to the department through a measurable vision shared with the Dean and other Department Chairs in the ongoing evolution of the LSU Health Shreveport School of Medicine. The position is responsible for overseeing faculty, staff, and residents in the department, and will continue advancing educational, clinical, and research missions which align with the department, school, and hospital partner visions. The Department Head reports directly to the Dean of the School of Medicine and will work closely with hospital leadership of the Ochsner LSU Health System of North Louisiana. The incumbent will also work collaboratively with other clinical and basic science department heads and directors to enhance the overall mission.

The LSU Health Shreveport Department of Pathology and Translational Pathobiology is composed of an outstanding 28+ faculty members, 12 residents, 3 fellows, and nearly 200 administrative and laboratory staff. The faculty members are boarded in the various subspecialties of pathology, leading to subspecialized sign-out. The department provides diagnostic services to patients within the Ochsner LSU Health System, and numerous patients regionally, nationally, and internationally via the ever expanding Pathology Outreach Services program. The Outreach Program is centered on genitourinary and neuromuscular specialties and comprises a significant portion of the department’s work and revenue. It is supported by a knowledgeable sales and administrative staff dedicated to continued growth. The department also has a Research Division that is one of the best extramurally funded divisions in the institution. It is widely recognized for contributions to science in the goal of continuous improvement of quality patient care both diagnostically and therapeutically.


Requirements
The ideal candidate must be: MD or MD/PhD, Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, or other pathology subspecialty, eligible for State of Louisiana Medical License, and demonstrate a successful record of leadership with experience in administration, education, research, and quality health care delivery. The candidate must be able to effectively provide high quality clinical services in addition to leading educators and researchers to grow the scholarly and research activities of the department. Additionally, the incumbent must continue to support and grow the Outreach Program.
