Academic Surgical Pathology Positions available- Immediate positions available
The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at a major university is seeking two full-time academic surgical pathologists. Specialization in one of the following areas; Cytopathology, GYN, ENT, GI and/ or GU is preferred; specifically an experienced mid-career (Potential for the the position of Director of Surgical Pathology) and one JR level of experienced pathologist, but all candidates are welcome to apply. All surgical pathologists will contribute time to the autopsy service. Academic rank, compensation and appointment type will be based on qualifications and experience. Candidates must have demonstrated ability in teaching and in scholarly productivity in a specialty area in anatomic pathology. The specialty area is flexible, but advanced training in a specialty area is preferred. Minimum requirements include an M.D. degree, eligibility for licensure in the State of Minnesota, and board certification in anatomic pathology.
The successful candidates will spend a significant portion of their time on the surgical pathology service. During this time, sign-out responsibilities, on-call duties, resident supervision, and conferences are shared with other members of the anatomic pathology faculty. Academic time will be used to pursue scholarly work in the candidates area of specialty/research expertise. Preferred candidates will be active in their national organizations and have experience in fostering an academic environment for medical students, residents and faculty.
