Official 2016-2017 ID Fellowship Application Cycle

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'm not applying for ID, but I was just perusing the forums. I understand your dilemma. I'd imagine it best to go ahead and submit, but only choose the 2 LORs you're definitely going to use either way (you don't want to upload 3 and then screw yourself out of one of the ID letters). Then go ahead and nudge your ID letter writers so they can submit soon; let them know the timeline & how long it takes to get uploaded, while expressing a lot of gratitude.

I hope this helps! All the best to you!! :)
Thank you for the insight.

Any thoughts on LSU vs Tulane? Im looking for a more public health/ tropical medicine focused program. Tulane seems the better options since they have focused track.

Adding a few:

07/21/16: UConn
07/22/16: UMD, St. Lukes/Beth Isreal (looks like they have combined now), UTH

Do you guys expect to get rejections? Or is the norm to just not hear back?

Quiet today...

I think in looking at last years threads only a couple places sent rejections (note NIH). I think not hearing anything at all usually means rejection. However its way too early in the process to start reaching out to programs or asking about application status, etc.
You can tell some programs have not even started reviewing applications.
Just my thoughts

How many interviews are you guys planning on going on? I want to go to all the ones I get (only applied to 12 places that I'm pretty interested in) but I can only go on 4 or 5 before I start having to use vacation days to make up for interviews...

Same here, heard from Northwestern and U Chicago almost immediately. Round 7/17-7/18.
Haven't heard from any of the other Chicago programs, pretty sure they haven't sent out invites yet (I'm only certain since my residency is/was based in Chicago).

I did. On the earlier side.

Really wanted BID, any more get that one?

in the midst of my first IV, six sessions IV's with 8 interviewers, including the PD and the Chief.

Q : can anyone tell me if I should write 8 individual Thank you letters?! If so, there will be a lot repetitive content.

Wow early actual interview..
Our administrators who interview candidates here are now advising applicants to not send additional "Thank you Letters."

I'm sure you could ask.
Email always seemed appropriate.
