To be honest. At this point, I just want to know...plus I think we are all making each other a little crazy at this point :/
Exactly what I have been saying too. It's a daunting task after going out of training. It affects AMGs too actually but to a lesser extentMy friend has a solid application (beside being an IMG and a hospitalist) and yet to get any interviews from outside. High USMLE scores, University based residency, previous chief resident at same program, 14 publications (8 first author), Green card holder (reason he did hospitalist), staying as a hospitalist at the same university to do research. He only got one interview from his own program but otherwise nothing with multiple rejections. He applied to ~125 programs. I think being an IMG is a huge issue in GI for most porgrams and becoming a hospitalist makes thing even worse. It seems once you are out of residency it becomes extremely hard (not impossible) to match even if you have strong credentials and publications.
rather than reconsidering decision, there are other things IMGs can do too. many do not wanna discuss this in a public forum. U can personal message me if u are concerned about the status of your application, what u can do to improve. Although I would love to keep all discussions public, not everyone would like to discuss their scores, program in a forum. good luckThank you all for the inputs.
I agree that being IMG is the biggest factor going against any one applying for GI now. I have seen multiple IMGs with more than 10 IVs going unmatched. And I personally think that if you are IMG, probably you should reconsider your decision of pursuing GI if are you chose to spend some years out of residency!
there are quite a fewDoes anyone have few to no interviews still?

Yea only one interview from home program. IMG on J1 from excellent overseas school. Current resident at university program. 230s-240s. Supposedly excellent letters and lots of research and scattered publications (case reports, review article, conferences). It's very disappointing! (Applied extremely broadly)

welcome to the rude shock - i.e: GI fellowship match. seriously u begin to wonder who are those folks who are getting the actual interviewsthis is ridiculous, for the last 2 weeks, no interviews or rejections....
I talked to my PD and he was literally like WTH is going on in GI.lol. We have people with less work in cards who have received 7,8 IVs till now and no IVs for GI people who did more work. This is crazy!
I am sure a lot of us are in a similar situation where several programs have been completely silent - no interviews but no rejections either. Is it common to just...never hear back one way or another? Is it appropriate to contact programs to get a sense of what is happening? Or is it still too early for that?
from my experience, def yes. more than 90 percent programs wont even send rejection. U start to wonder if they really reviewed your application.I am sure a lot of us are in a similar situation where several programs have been completely silent - no interviews but no rejections either.
