Cleveland clinic nih track
Are you asking if you should withdraw your applications? If so the answer is obviously no. You should hang in there, its not over till its over.So is it time to give up?
Did anyone hear anything from Johns Hopkins? Thanks!
Dang! you really are expecting interview from hopkins!
Im just hoping to get more interviews from anywhere.
Anyone have a sense on how important pre-interview dinners/meet&greet's are? If the program (which is hosting said dinner) is somewhere in which you are interested, is foregoing them in order to attend another interview (of a less desirable program) a rational decision? Thanks in advance.
DUKEAny more interviews from IMGs - dambakula, songgavin, Astronomer ....??
I have similar problem ,If its the program very high on your list, I would not miss the pre interview dinner. Most programs invite 20-30 candidates for interviews and you need to make an impact wherever possible. Thats my thought process.
New ones not on the list: MSKCC, UCI, UIC, Scripps, U Mass.
Have any of you started to send cancellation e-mails? I wish I could go to all of them but logistically, it is impossible! Why do all of these interviews overlap!! Arghh.
I am probably sending out a couple of cancellations on Monday. I am having a tough time deciding on how many interviews I should go on. I am thinking between 10-14??
I'm curious if anybody has heard from the following programs or knows if they've given out IVs already:
Tufts
NS-LIJ
Downstate
Cooper (or for that matter, anywhere else in Philly)

To All SDN GI Hopefuls:
It seems interviews are coming in at least two waves this year. I hope that this is the beginning of the second wave. I have only heard from three programs (one home institution IV, and two other reaches were rejections). I hope to start to hear from the other programs (more comfort programs) about IV's soon.
I encourage my fellow applicants to be courteous of the process. You will only go to one program in the end. Part of the process is figuring out where you will fit in best. The statistics state that 5-6 ranked programs equals about 95 percent chance (or higher) of matching.
Holding on to 10 or more interviews or going to that many interviews is just ridiculous. Anything over 7-8 interviews, in my opinion, you are just being greedy.
Please cancel interviews at places that you are less interested in or have no intent of actually ranking highly. If you have that many interviews already you are going to get into a good program and you should be canceling interviews at places you are less interested in.
You are essentially holding interview spots that could go to those applicants who have not gotten many first wave interviews orang interviews at all.
By going to 12-14 interviews over 7-8 you are not increasing your chances by any significant amount. You are just being selfish over and above that number of interviews and potentially impeding your fellow applicants.
Thank you for your consideration.
Just wondering how many of you are interested in 4 year nih track
Is research track less competitive
All my interviews r from research track except couple
