Hey there! I have been looking for this info but wasn't able to find any reliable sources. Is there a survey or study, regardless of the population it assesses, where it's reported the average number of dentists a patient sees throughout his/her lifetime?
I could only find reports about doctors and medical practitioners in general, but never about dentists specifically.

Cheers from Brazil!

Patients with pets visit their vet 10x more often than a dentist.

Are you talking about the actual number of patients a dentist sees in his/her own chair and works on themselves, or are you also adding in the number of patients a dentist will see both in their own chair and in the chairs of their hygienists for examinations as well?

Also are you talking about just general dentists or various specialists or a profession wide average of all types of dental practitioners?

If you're talking about a general dentist, in my own office today, if you count the mouths of patients I'll be doing hygiene checks on and my own patients, I'm scheduled to be looking in 36 mouths today - (that's about an average daily volume for me in my practice). My orthodontist wife, will typically work on and/or examine the mouths of about 75 patients per day in her office, so you can see how there can be some variance

I mean the number of dental professionals a patient has throughout his/her lifetime. As in "the average Danish will require the services of 7.4 dentists during his life". Obviously I've used Danish but the demographics is really unimportant at this time.

I'm trying to gather up info regarding miscommunication among dental practitioners, whatever the reason behind the problem. Eventually we come across news about a person that had a surgery on the wrong limb or something where the problem was lack of clear communication, and not of technique. I'd like to assess it in the Dentistry area.
