How many questions are available in the question bank?

For the Step 1 pack, how were the high yield elements chosen from each book? Did past test takers have any say in what was chosen?

Also, is there any comparison between this question bank and those of UWorld and Kaplan?

Thanks!

will we be able to choose what month we want access to this prep pack?

how much is the pack normally

Do these texts and reviews reflect Step 1 content changes (e.g.- inlcude media-type questions, clinically-oriented questionings, etc.)? Also, do you have any consumer data on step 1 score improvement, etc? Thanks for your help I love your products (particularly the rapid review series)!

Thanks everyone for the questions. I'll do my best to answer everyone.....

Question 1:

For the Step 1 pack, how were the high yield elements chosen from each book? Did past test takers have any say in what was chosen? The elements were chosen by our editorial team and based on what we consider quick hits, like lists, tables, charts, and cases.

Also, is there any comparison between this question bank and those of UWorld and Kaplan?
Our question bank is as robust as those of Kaplan and UW and we include remediation that only Elsevier can provide.

Question 2:
How is the book organized? How many high yield facts does it have?

Take a look at the tables of contents for each product for a better idea of what the product offers and how it is arranged:

Step 1: http://www.us.elsevierhealth.com/product.jsp?isbn=9781437717006
Step 3: http://www.us.elsevierhealth.com/product.jsp?isbn=9781437717020

Question #3
will we be able to choose what month we want access to this prep pack? Yes! You can activate your account whenever you are ready!

Question #4
Is the information more in textbook style, or notecard/chart style?
The book includes lists, tables, and charts. It's quick-hit review book.

Question #5
how much is the pack normally?
For Step 1, the pack is $75 and includes the question bank and Scorrelator (a score assessment tool) . For Step 3, the pack is $105 and includes 100 CCS cases, the question bank, and the Scorrelator. You are essentially getting the book for free!

Question #6
Do these texts and reviews reflect Step 1 content changes (e.g.- inlcude media-type questions, clinically-oriented questionings, etc.)? We are working on incorporating the media questions, but they are not live yet. Our banks do include clinically oriented questions. Also, do you have any consumer data on step 1 score improvement, etc? We do not have that kind of data. Since students hesitate to use one source of study, the stats would not be clean regarding use of USMLE Consult only.

Thanks!

Hi,

What is the difference between Step 3 premium review and Step 3 CSS Case Bank + Question Bank?
I've gone through the website already. But not able to find out. Does it have access to more questions?

The difference between the Step 3 Premium Review and the Step 3 CSS Case + Question Bank is that the Premium Review includes Student Consult online access to Rapid Review Step 3.

I am interested in the Step 3 material.

However, I also want to bitch to Elsevier for removing the online access to Robbin's 7th edition. I really like Robbin's and have been using the online access since buying the book 2 years ago. Why not give a discount for all those folks who are unlikely to buy a brand new copy of Robbin's but would love to keep their online access?

Will the online access to Robbins be put back on? If Robbins was removed, then what is the pathology resource used in place of it?

Several questions for Step 3:
Are the QBank questions in the same format as in the real test (Multiple-items/cases)?
Is the CCS pack an interactive software or a compilation of cases description?
How different is the CCS software from the real test?

Thanks in advance! Have heard some awesome things about this product

..a group of residents that were studying for step 3 were all doing usmleconsult and they believed consult was better than usmleworld!..

Oh, another question:
How much is $ it for extension of time for using the qbank? Thanks!
