Neurology topics useful for Gen Surg?

Hello,

Future Gen Surg intern here, currently on a neurology rotation. I was asked to give a presentation next week covering a few different neurology topics, that could be pertinent to General Surgeons (specifically told to avoid pure Neurosurgery topics and also not talk about ICU stuff only). To the surgeons out here, I was wondering if I could get some input regarding which topics you think would be interesting to a General Surgery audience?

So far, all I can think of is Neuro assessment in trauma patients.

You could discuss strokes and treatment options with carotid disease. Vascular, though it has its own match as well, also is a significant portion of general surgery experiences.

Look into workup and treatment of acute stroke. Important to know when you're managing sick inpatients.
