Mt Sinai Beth Israel Surgery

Mt Sinai Beth Israel general surgery program now has 0 PGY4s and 0 PGY3s for next year. No new interns are being recruited due to the massive transition in the hospital and the acknowledged lack of educational opportunity. Is it just me, or does it seem difficult to run a program with 6 chiefs and a limited complement of PGY2s?

Then again, with no PGY 3's or 4's, perhaps the 2's will get into the OR a bunch more. So could be a huge win for them.
