The link posted by elementz was working when I checked it about 5-6 hours ago.. It is quite an informative site. An alternate link to that site is www.med.sc.edu/micro

Your inability to access could be due to some temporary server problem. Why not check back at a later time.... say tomorrow. It's worth it.

Check out the Study Dent website at www.studydent.com. Study Dent offers preparation courses for the CA Bench/ RT Exam in the SF Bay Area. The website is still underconstruction but may already be viewed. Formal classes have not begun yet but informal tutorials and critiques are on going for the Bench and Clinical Exams free of charge (for now only). Dvd instruction videos are also in the works.

How old is this program? Have any of their graduates made it through the bench exam? Do you know of anyone who might have taken their courses?

new dental site to be opened .. by oct 1
www.rxbds.com
this is not a promotional ad.. ( i am specifying this since my earlier post regarding this site was deleted, cuz it looked like a promotional ad i presume!:) )

it is a request that many of those interested in guiding the dental students from india on the various career prospects and discuss the exam pattern and tough questions are welcome... it is NOT mandatory that u register to view the posts, articles or post replies... but registration(which will be free, of course) will help other site members contact u via messaging service or chat when u are online via online messenger.

this site is in its infancy and needs your support so that the indian dental studental community(who have less info on overseas prospects... and guidance) will be benefitted!

Thanks.. and if u want to contact me .... u can email me at [email protected]

Moreover it will also serve as a discussion platform .. for all of us!

regards,
R.Akilesh

Hi,

I just bumped into this website called www.foreigntraineddentists.com. It offers a great admissions guide written by a foreign dental admissions counsellor. You may want to to check it out. I just bought the online book and pretty happy with all the information in one place including accepted SOPS! It costs 39 dollars.

Best of luck with your applications,

Pragati

if u are a trained dentist , u do not need to give the DAT . u can give the NBDE part 1 and try for admissions.
there are various links in this thread that give the information about which universities have an advanced standing program and accept foreign trained dentists.
otherwise try the ADAwebsite www.ada.org
and link on the link for liscencure requirements for international trained dentist.
but i do know for sure that there is a direct link in this thread too.. cheach it out,
hope this helps

Hi, everyone!

I'm new here. I'm a licensed dentist currently outside the US, and I'm so glad I found this forum. This is just what I need! :)

I'll be taking NDBE 2 this March (much too late for the California 2003 deadline :( ), and I've been looking for other avenues to study/work in the US. From what I've seen of this forum so far, you all have offered great tips and advice, and I hope I can do the same, too!

I will be asking redundant questions, probably, but please bear with me. I'll try not to do it often.

Thanks, and it's nice to be here.

Hello
Regradingt the avenues you can pursue to work in US are as a Dental Assistant or as a Dental Hygienist. The Dental Assistant need not have a license in many of the states, but for a dental hygienist you will have to be licensed. the licensure consists of a Hygienist part 1 and part2 with practical exam that is conducted twice a year.
Please look into your state's legislature for licensure requirements.....
