Informatics and podiatry

I've noticed this field has slowly and steadily been on the. I've read about it from several reliable sources. I think nursing now has an established branch (nursing informatics).

Has the informatics wave hit podiatry yet, or will it even hit podiatry?

From some of my reading and research it seems like medical professionals go for additional schooling after their degrees--MD, DO, etc--and get training in informatics to combine with what they do.

Can anyone drop some knowledge on this matter? Informatics and podiatry?
