Do I need a PhD in clinical psych? Can someone explain the PhD process to me? What do I need to do to be a child therapist?

Also, what's the difference between child therapist, psychologist, and counselor?

Um, explain the Ph.D. process to you?! Come on. Take a look around this board. It's why its here.

In short, "psychologist" denotes that one holds a doctorate in either clinical psychology, counseling psychology, or school psychology. However, one can certainly do psychotherapy with children (or adults) without one. You wont demand as high a salary or per session fee however.
