How screwed am I?

Hey all-

Just wanted to get some input on something I've been going back and forth on. I officially applied to gen surg residencies however I will not be taking step 2 until mid November. I got a 238 on step 1 but have been getting mixed reviewed on when to take step 2. I decided to schedule aways early and to do a home sub I before taking it. Now I'm worried I won't get interviews because I'm missing my step 2 score from my app. If anyone had any experience or any input That would be helpful!

I have a number of people I know who applied to general surgery and neurosurgery who had not taken Step 2 CK until after interviews. Despite not taking the exam they still received an expected amount of interview invitations and matched. I think only a very small minority of programs would not interview an applicant because they have not taken Step 2.

Most programs aren't requiring it. Your Step 1 is ok so can't see that Step 2 would significantly change things.
