Does the ABNM require 3 years for those who have done only a PGY-1? or is it a standard 2 year residency (after PGY-1) for anyone regardless of prior residencies?

If you want to do Nucs, do it through radiology as a fellowship.

Believe me. Unless you are a superstar with 100 publications and research grants going into academia, there are no jobs available for pure Nucs trained graduates.

so.... 2 years? or 3?

If you've only completed a prelim year, it's 7 years.

3 years of nuclear medicine + 4 years of radiology residency afterwards (if you're lucky).

All seriousness - 2 year pathway is only for people who have completed a full non-radiology residency, eg IM.

Nuclear medicine is interesting, but the career prospects are dismal.
