Now that I am here in the midwest, and I miss the coastal regions, (Without failing out), how do I ensure atleast externships or a residency at any where along the coast, preferably a warm region.

Good grades, etc?

P.S. I feel like a fish out of water, any h20 would be greatly appreciated.
Get good grades, etc

Grades matter. But, more importantly, how you present yourself during clerkships and externships will matter even more when applying for residency. But for now, let's learn basic sciences well so that our years 3 and 4 goes smoothly :zip:

Work hard. That means you should get good grades, be involved in clubs, research, network, visit programs when you have time off (if you can travel), email residencies to show interest and pass boards.

You only apply to programs near the coast. Is this a real question?
