High School Student shadowing

Hello,I realized I posted this in the wrong forum haha anyway
I'm planning on asking my dentist if I can shadow him and maybe gain more insight about dentistry.
Is there anything I should bring? my transcript? or anything? should I just ask straight up?

No need to bring up transcripts or anything. Just start out nonchalantly mentioning how you are contemplating a career in dentistry but want to learn more about the field. In my experience, they bring it up themselves at that point. If not, just ask straight up.
