GPR positions available with Penobscot Community Health Center in Bangor, ME for the 2017-2018 academic year. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology including digital radiography in all operatories, CBCT, and a portable microscope that is used commonly for endodontic procedures but can be used for virtually any procedure. Residents will gain comprehensive experience in all facets of general dentistry. Experience will include but not be limited to routine and complex restorative dentistry, surgical and nonsurgical exodontia, root canal therapy with opportunities for root can retreatments or apical surgeries, removable (both complete and partial) and fixed prosthodontics, periodontal surgery, pediatric dentistry, and hospital dentistry. Specialists attend once a month for complex endodontic and periodontal procedures. The facility is staffed with an oral surgeon who oversees residents during difficult extraction cases, third molar extractions, pre-prosthetic surgery, biopsies, and implant placements. The facility is also staffs with orthodontist who are available for consultations; the residents do rotations with the orthodontist and have access to hands on experience. Our board certified prothodontist is on staff three days per week and is available for consultations at any time and assists with routine and complex removable and fixed cases. Each resident has a dedicated operatories and assistant for over-flow and increased patient care over the residency. Residents do NOT take call.
