What year did you graduate?congrats i went to UB for undergrad and did ES also..im attending NYU in the summer
How did MGHIHP reach out to you? Email? Phone call? Thx.
It's really coming down to your GPA/GRE in my opinion. Some schools from what I have heard will actually rank applicants by GPA right off the bat. So get that GPA up, retake physics it should be easier this time around as you've been exposed to all of the material. Visit with tutors, READ the chapter before lecture, stay focused, don't give up. If you are as passionate about this field as you stated, then a year or two extra should not come as an impassable obstacle. I have seen people get in with similar GPA' s so perhaps you need to refine your list of schools. Keep your chin up, nose to the grindstone, a push through adversity.BUMP
I am also still waiting from Rosalind Franklin! Hopefully you declining will free up a spot for me if you're offered an interview!
When did you hear from midwestern about an interview?
2015What year did you graduate?

Interviews: University of Miami (10/14), Augusta University (10/28), Mercer (11/19), Western Carolina (12/10), Armstrong State University (1/27--declined)
Are you waiting on the other schools or are you choosing of the ones you've been accepted to? Just curious, I'm on the waitlist at Mercer, but otherwise I'm going to Augusta.
Congratulations on getting an interview with Midwestern. I had very similar GRE scores as you. Although I had a 4.0 prerequisite GPA and 3.9 overall and I was waitlisted and never heard back. I even committed to early decision and was waitlisted. I have since accepted an offer from NAU but I will forever scratch my head as to what the did not like about me. I hear the campus is phenomenal and state of the art. Best of luck.*This is my second time applying*
Additional information from last application cycle:
I was waitlisted to Regis University (for an interview), University of Pittsburgh (no interview), and Washington University in St. Louis (In March 2016 I was #19 and made it all the way to #1 and waited until the first week of class. No one dropped out). I also had a Skype interview with Azusa Pacific but chose to decline it because I had anticipated an acceptance with St. Louis... oops.
Obviously St. Louis was my top choice and the anticipation over the five months was BRUTAL. I honestly don't know any other student who was in my shoes. I wasn't sure if it was worth knowing my position or not. But it was definitely a big eye opener and that experience made me open to other schools. I didn't want to be so caught up for a school's name and number (all the PTs I worked with kept reminding me about this). I really needed to look at the schools holistically because we are essentially taking the same PT Boards Exam regardless of school. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise because I would not have the opportunity to check out schools like San Francisco and Midwestern! Despite being rejected, I've been trying to keep my head held high. I believe it is much better to move on with a positive attitude.
Other schools I applied to that I didn't this year: Samuel Merritt (only because I didn't meet the verbal GRE 150 minimum), University of Southern California, and Boston University.

My concern is explaining why I want to leave a career in basic science research. Ultimately, I found that I am most fulfilled when working one-on-on with individuals to help them reach their goals. However, many professors who conduct interviews have active research programs, so I want to be careful not to offend anyone.
I will be applying this upcoming cycle (07/01/2017). Please take a look at my current profile. I still have two semesters left!

After my freshman year, my GPA was about a 2.8 which was really low. I retook all my classes that I got C's in and managed to do well in them which definitely brought up my GPA quickly. I also decided to take some upper level courses for courses like bio where I had some B's and got A's in the upper level class so I was able to use the A instead of the B which brought up my pre-req GPA for some of the schools I applied to. I think if you have a C in one of your classes such as bio, it might be a better option to take a class like Cell Bio which is considered upper level which many programs take and have that grade replace your C. It definitely took a lot of research into schools but even if you have a low pre-req like me, try to make it up with your last 60 credits and show that you're willing to volunteer in different settings. I know it's difficult sometimes getting experience in inpatient settings but I think having those experiences definitely helped me and showed that I wasn't just interested in outpatient ortho.
I applied last year and had 0 interviews and this year I have had 5 so far (hopefully a few more). In my senior year, I was able to get 2 more experiences into my application, managed to get a 3.9 gpa for my final year and add some new extra curriculars. If you're in your final year of college, try to make the most of it and stay involved. That extra push is what helped me get those interviews this year that I didn't have last year.
I'd go with St Augustine. Better to have a real acceptance that waitlist unless you are within like the top 5 on Creighton's waitlist.Hello,
I've been accepted at St Augustine for summer 2017,
And have been placed on the alternate list for Creighton university.
I don't know whether to proceed with st. Augustine or wait for a chance to get into creighton. A little advice

UPDATES IN BOLD
***ATTENTION***
I am in desperate need of advice/motivation. This is my 3rd year applying to PT programs. I graduated in Dec 14 with my bachelors in Kinesiology and immediately applied to four PT programs (UIC, Midwestern, Rosalind Franklin, Governors State). I was immediately denied. I spent the spring semester taking Biology II and medical terminology to increase my GPA and again applied to 8 schools (UIC, Midwestern, Rosalind Franklin, Governors State, Bradley, Northwestern, UW-Madison, UW-Milwaukee). I was denied to all 8, no interviews. The following year I retook A&P 1&2 (received A's in both) at a community college because I received a "C" in both classes. I have applied to the following schools below.
I recently had an interview at Concordia University St Paul (1/13). I thought it went well, but I guess not. Although I was nervous I felt like I answered the questions well and had good questions to ask them. I need TIPS on nailing my next interview if I get one.
I am so passionate about PT; however I'm beginning to lose hope, especially if I get denied to all these schools again. I would literally do anything to become a Physical Therapist and I just want schools to see this. ANY ADVICE FOR ME?!

Getting pretty discouraged here at this point. Still waiting on Midwestern, Rosalind Franklin, University of Minnesota, Trine University, and SBU but it's time to start planning how I'm going to strengthen my application this year.
I am already planning on re taking the GRE again and killing it this time. Also, I have a C in both physics 1 & 2. Should I retake one or both these classes?
anybody declining a spot at dyouville?
I will most likely be declining.anybody declining a spot at dyouville?
You have really good stats! I had a lower GRE and was interviewed at UNE. The only thing I was going to say is look at the number of applicants they accept in state because I was going to apply to milwaukee but I didn't because I think they accept 90% if not 100% of in state applicants. Just thought I'd tell you before you pay the money to apply there and not have a chance.Hey everybody! I've been following this thread for a while now and figured I'd ask you all if there's anything you guys had to say about my upcoming application, even the most critical of comments are welcome, GPAs estimated for time of application next year:
University: University of Vermont
Majors: Italian Studies (BA) & Exercise and Movement Science (BS)
Overall GPA: 3.5 (upward trend)
Prereq: 3.3-3.5

Volunteer: 300/400 observation hours in 3 suburban outpatient clinics (one of them neuro specialty) and 1 rural outpatient
Extracurricular: UVM prept club founder and first president, 2 year rugby team treasurer (~60k in assets managed), 2 year rugby captain, Italian honor society (Italian is my first language, not sure if that is worth mentioning on an app since it makes me fluent enough in Spanish), 4 year rugby player
Considering applying to: Creighton University, Washington University in St Louis, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, University of Utah, Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, University of Vermont, College of St Scholastica, University of New England, Indiana State University, University of Southern California, American International College, Clarke University, Hampton University, MCPHS.
Thanks again for all the help!
I would just recommend getting observation in one inpatient setting because some schools require or suggest getting both inpatient and outpatient. Other than that, just try to get the gpas up with any remaining classes. Maybe try to narrow your list down to about 7 targeted schools that value your strongest areas and save on application fees.Hey everybody! Your stats look really good! Honestly I'm not really sure what's going on there, but a lot of the times it's a lot of different factors. Like when you applied, how your interview went, who you are competing against in that school's application cycle, recommendations, or even your essay. My stats are lower than yours and I got in this round, but it took me three times. You can always call or email and ask why you were waitlisted or rejected and usually a school will tell you why and what you need to improve on. But the waitlist is not a bad thing! I know a lot of people who are in PT school now somewhere and were taken off the waitlist! Stay positive!Really confused right now. I am waitlisted at UMiami, MGHIHP, URI, and UNE. Stats below. Don't know why I am not getting in. GRE is only possibility. Please let me know your thoughts.
