Medical Volunteer Program Manager (MVM)

Job Objective:

Provide a full set of services to support the Medical Volunteerism efforts of CerviCusco to students and professionals from the academic environment in the United States and other countries. CerviCusco is a NGO located in Cusco, Peru that provides cervical cancer prevention services to impoverished women in the Andes region of Cusco.

Job Description:

This position will be an onsite, contracted position for a term of 1 year. The candidate must be willing to relocate to Cusco, Peru and live at CerviCusco in a private room with bathroom for the contracted amount of time. The candidate must be able to produce marketing materials to market the clinic to US based medical schools, coordinate the printing and collating of marketing materials, control advertising budget, research and source the correct contacts within the medical schools and sell the student medical volunteer program to those contacts. In addition, the candidate will have onsite coordination responsibilities of the volunteer yearly schedule, collection of all monetary exchanges and necessary forms/releases, the schedule of activities and rotations (campaigns/clinic days) during the student stay and orientation of each student. The candidate will work 6 days a week during clinic hours (usually 8-2) but will be on call 24/7 to respond to student requests/questions/emergencies. In addition, the candidate will hold orientation and welcome meetings on Sundays. The candidate will also work closely with all CerviCusco staff in order to ensure coordination efforts are precise and the experience for the student is flawless. Last, the candidate will learn how to write grants to apply to international grant programs and will regularly search appropriate websites looking for grant opportunities.

Requirements:

-Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Premed or other Allied Health area, business administration, marketing or similar area

-English speaker with intermediate to advanced Spanish skills (at least middle school through high school Spanish classes, some college Spanish or complete fluency preferred)

-Ability to relocate to Cusco, Peru and live onsite, valid passport

-Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

-Exceptional Microsoft Office skills, especially PowerPoint and Excel

-Strong understanding of social media resources and how to leverage them

-The ability to maintain flexibility and a positive attitude while you work

-Strong entrepreneurial spirit and ability to do proactive work in order to drive results



Preferred, but not required:

-At least 1-3 years of work experience in a marketing or sales role

-Experience working in an academic medical environment, either in administration or in a clinical role

-Experience in a role where large and ongoing project coordination and implementation skills were used

-Experience working in an international, resource limited setting in a developing country



Additional Information:

Reporting to: General Manager or Medical Director at CerviCusco

Salary: Housing included, $4000 per year salary ($334 per month)

Location: CerviCusco, B-8-2 Los Saucos, Larapa, Cusco, Peru
