FDA requests removal of Opana ER for risks related to abuse

Interesting to see how the pendulum has shifted. Back when opiophile.org existed, I remember reading how popular Opana ER was among the abusers. I don't prescribe it at all.

I bet this is political. Opana ER is not worse than the others. If it is, i would like to see the proof. An opiate is an opiate.

Opana was dbl strength oxycodone.
15mg bid and you have used up all your meq. So why have it available in 20s, 30s, and 40s.

My understanding is that it's easy to inject. A little Googling reveals that Opana ER can be made injectable in a few minutes using materials available at any drug store.
