I submit my application for early decision to University of Michigan seeing as it's my top choice. I know early admission decisions have to be made by October 20th, but that makes me a little nervous in the case there's a delay of some type. The deadline for my second choice regular admission is November 1st. Have there been cases in early decision where there was a delay and a decision wasn't made until a week later (27th, 28th etc) or is it absolute that all early acceptance decisions are made either before or by the designated date, in this case October 20th? Also, does that mean I can't start applying regular decision until a decision for early acceptance is made?
