I heard from residents in other specialities that there is a clear discrimination against DOs in their field. I was wondering if this is applicable in pathology. Has anybody heard of any DOs unable to match into top pathology fellowships or move higher up in their career (I.e. take managerial positions, apply for top notch job positions, etc) because of their degree?

Thanks!

There's little discrimination overall. The good news is whatever there may be continues to fade with each passing year as DO's are becoming more ubiquitous...

Thank you. That gives me some peace of mind.

The way pathology's going it's either DOs or FMGs for most programs. You have nothing to worry about.
