I am an Illinois resident with UIC gppa probably being my best chance. I'm a junior.
I have a 4.8 overall GPA, 4.6 academic GPA. My unweighted GPA is 3.8 and 3.6 respectively. I have an upward trend. I got almost all Bs in freshman year and have almost all As in sophomore and junior.
ACT: 35/36 first take
SAT: 1520/1600 first take, could retake
PSAT: 1500/1520. Or 224. This makes me eligible for the National Merit Scholar. I think it's top 0.5% in each state.
I took AP tests for calc, lang, and US history but haven't gotten my scores back. They should be a 4 or 5 though.
ECs:
Swimming JV- 3 years
Book Bank Volunteer- 3 years
Library volunteer- 4 years
Hospital volunteer- Couple months so far
Tutoring- 1 year
Lifeguard- will be starting this summer
School orchestra(1st violin)- 3 years
Church ensemble- 1 year
Math team- 3 years, awards
World Language Honors Society- 2 years
National Honors Society- 1 year
Medical club- 2 years
Leadership:
None! I will be part of math team I think next year but that is it. I applied to leadership last year but did not get elected.
This is probably my biggest flaw, I know.
I am also looking at small liberal arts colleges like Grinnell, Illinois Wesleyan, and Carleton. Also there are places like Oklahoma and Alabama that give massive scholarships to national merit scholars. I visited Oklahoma and I loved it.
