Has anyone from Texas, or interested in attending PT school around the Austin area, applied to both Texas State and St. Augustine? They are really the only two options close by, besides UTSA. I have heard good things about St. Augustine as far as Manual Therapy training and would be interested in their Flex Program possibly, but it's so much more expensive! Texas State seems like a good option, but I haven't read many things about it, and it doesn't seem to be very highly rated. Their curriculum online also seems kind of limited. Any thoughts? Would it be worth moving somewhere else?

You can also look into University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, but it's a private school.

I'm starting PT school at Texas State in a couple weeks and I'm excited!! I've only heard good things about the program and chose to go there over schools like UTMB or TWU or UNT. Let me know if you have specific questions :)

The Texas public schools are some of the best bargains in the country and therefore, some of the most competitive to get into. Texas State and UTHSCSA in San Antonio would be the best and most affordable options in that area. St. Augustine is really a mixed bag when it comes to opinions and is very expensive and UIW is problem based learning, private and also expensive. Other good Texas options include TWU, UTMB, UNT, and UTSW. Again, getting accepted to the state schools will be much more difficult than the private schools. Honestly, except for just a few name schools, that trend holds nationally.

I agree with @dptwannabee1 when she says that St Augustine is a mixed bag, I've heard good reviews but also things of concern regarding the school on here
