Yes used to use them during intern year because they are much easier to place. I stopped because our radiology dep't won't use them for angiography - you can't flush those lines as quickly, apparently.
Had a CT tech not long ago refuse to do a CTA with a femoral cordis because it didn't physically say power injectable on it. Never ****ing mind it's the size of a small chest tube. You think your contrast injector is more powerful than the level 1 infuser?
I hate people who don't even try to think.
