Just wondering if its alright?

Or do the LORs have to be from Internists/Hospitalists when applying to IM residencies?

Thx,

I'm being serious. Having letters from subspecialists is fine. Especially if they are well known, well published etc. I had one hospitalist, a cardiologist, a nephrologist and a general surgeon. I included the surgeon's letter cuase he was cheif of surgery at a program I applied to and whose opinion I value PLUS the letter was awesome. It's all good.

Cool, thx!

You need 1 general IM letter...the rest can be whatever.

Thx for that...although I'm a bit worried now cause I'm doing my electives in Oncology and Gastro in the States....not sure if I'll have a 'general IM letter'....
