I honestly am enjoying the program so far. Couldn’t have asked for better faculty as well as a great group of peers. The faculty want you to succeed & go above and beyond for their students. I came across one professor who wasn’t the greatest. I lucked out with my section of peers. Everyone gets along with everyone, but I heard other sections are very cliquey. There’s 5 sections total. Only downside to the program is it being a bit disorganized when it comes to scheduling. I heard fieldwork was a big disaster from previous students but I can’t comment on it. I will be completing my first level I in peds this semester at a public school working with children with disabilities in kindergarten. Only a 3 week placement, 2x per week. I know some schools is longer but it is understandable with our program having 120 students. Overall, so far so good! Lmk if you have any questions, will be happy to answer any!

This probably sounds like a really stupid question but are students able to work while in this program? I plan on getting my CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) so I would see if I could get a couple of hours coaching at a gym moreso on the weekends but also one or two days on weekdays to make a little money. I just don't want to go through graduate school broke! Thanks and let me know!

Not a stupid question at all! Honestly I didn’t work at all fall semester because it’s the hardest semester and I wanted to make sure I did well. I guess depends on your time management skills. I know people who worked first semester & did well. I know others who worked & failed out. I guess just ride it out and make sure the job is flexible & understands school is a priority. This semester I did get a babysitting job because it is much more manageable. It will still be a challenging semester but this semester is more individual work. Last semester was more exams & studying every week. Hope that helps and best of luck!

Thank you for the advice, it really helped! Once I get my CSCS I plan to reach out to a few gyms to see if I'll be able to get some flexible hours coaching but I know I'll put school first!
