That's all good and honestly that my kind of place to be. What they aren't talking about is what the base salary is because let's face it: unless you have a rich daddy who paid for your medical school, all of us out there still have a 250K+ in students loans that have to be paid.

I actually just took a job like this in the middle of the desert. It works for me since it is 2 weeks on/ 2 weeks off so you can essentially live anywhere and not be stuck. My family dynamics are such that my kids are used to me being gone and didn't want to move again - who can blame them for being in high school and needing to finish.

Rural is usually where the big money is but many places are not agreeble to the entire family unit. That is why I left Montana because I had to make a choice between saving my job or saving my marriage.
